Applications
Steel Fabrication for the Oil & Gas Industry
We design and manufacture skids, pressure vessels, piping systems, and reliable, high-performance steel fabrications for the Oil & Gas industry and other critical industrial applications.
Custom Steel Fabrication for Oil & Gas Plants
Officine Tironi manufactures custom steel fabrications for Oil & Gas plants and projects, built to customer drawings and specifications. We produce skids, structural frames, baseplates, support structures, and welded assemblies for industrial applications requiring strict process control, full material traceability, and compliance with project specifications.
We work closely with EPC contractors, plant engineering companies, and engineering firms, supporting their technical teams from design review through manufacturing, final inspections, and the preparation of all project documentation.
Unlike general steel fabrication, Oil & Gas fabrication requires complete documentation throughout every stage of the manufacturing process—from reviewing fabrication drawings to material selection and certification, welding procedure qualification, and non-destructive testing (NDT). Our quality management system enables us to supply installation-ready components for onshore facilities, complete with comprehensive technical documentation accompanying every production batch.
We also collaborate with our customers' engineering departments from the early design phase to identify manufacturing solutions that reduce production lead times without compromising the stringent quality standards required by the Oil & Gas industry.

From Drawing to Installation-Ready Component
Every project follows a production workflow tailored to the technical specifications and inspection plan defined for the contract.
- Technical Review
Verification of fabrication drawings and customer project specifications. - Cutting & Fabrication
Cutting, forming, and machining of plates and structural sections according to project tolerances. - Qualified Welding
Assembly and welding performed using qualified procedures by certified welders in accordance with applicable standards. - Inspection & Certification
Dimensional inspections, non-destructive testing (NDT), and fully traceable inspection documentation. - Site Delivery
Packaging and organized transportation to the installation site.
Traceable and Certified Quality
We process carbon steels, stainless steels, and, upon request, special alloys for highly corrosive environments and demanding industrial applications. Every project is supplied with mill certificates and complete material traceability.
Our steel structures are manufactured in accordance with EN 1090, up to Execution Class EXC3, the level required for structures with high structural responsibility, such as those used in the Oil & Gas industry.
Welding activities are managed in accordance with ISO 3834, using qualified welding procedures and certified welders, while non-destructive testing (NDT) of welded joints is carried out by personnel certified to UNI EN ISO 9712.
Our entire production process operates under an ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, complemented by ISO 45001 certification for occupational health and safety and ISO 14001 certification for environmental management, ensuring complete process control from raw material procurement through final shipment.
DSteel Fabrication for the Oil & Gas Industry
Depending on operating conditions, we manufacture components using carbon steels (such as S235, S355, and equivalent grades compliant with EN 10025), stainless steels, or special alloys for corrosive environments. All materials are supplied with mill certificates and full traceability.
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) consists of inspection methods that evaluate welded joints and structural components without damaging the material. Techniques such as ultrasonic testing (UT) and liquid penetrant testing (PT) allow inspectors to detect internal or surface defects that are invisible to the naked eye. NDT is essential for verifying structural integrity and ensuring compliance with the acceptance criteria specified by applicable standards and project requirements.
Many Oil & Gas components operate in contact with seawater, hydrocarbons, gases, and other aggressive chemical compounds. If corrosion is not properly considered during the design and material selection stages, it can significantly reduce the service life of pressure-retaining components and compromise plant safety. Choosing the appropriate material and implementing suitable fabrication processes are therefore essential to ensuring long-term reliability and operational safety.
